After beginning his career in Houston with the PwC Assurance practice, Bart moved to Austin to work under Joel at P180 Investments in July 2014. Since then, he has guided a handful of mid-market enterprise software companies through a broad array of operational challenges. Bart has been a CPA in the state of Texas since March 2014, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Accountancy from Trinity University. Away from the office, Bart enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter as well as playing soccer and tennis.
Joel founded his first business over 30 years ago and has served as CEO of numerous organizations including both public and private companies. As CEO or Chairman he has personally spearheaded 10 transactions with a combined value over a half a billion dollars. As CEO and co-founder of NetQoS, a network management software firm, he delivered 31 consecutive quarters of double-digit revenue growth and a $200mm exit valuation. Joel is the author of The CEO Tightrope and The Manager’s Playbook, which describe systematic approaches to running complex organizations. He enjoys training executive teams on how to maximize performance of their organizations.
Sarah moved to Austin in spring of 2020, shifting her career focus from the non-profit sphere to operational efficiency in the start-up market. Utilizing her previous years of experience in the health and human services industries, she equips individuals and organizations with the systems and operational efficiency needed to grow strategically. Sarah holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Human Services from Edgewood College of Madison, WI. Outside of the office, Sarah can be found bouldering or exploring the local coffee shops and trails with her husband and two dogs.
Veena has led successful B2B marketing teams at technology, software, hardware, and telecommunication companies for over 20 years. She has an undeniable passion for creating highly accountable, enthusiastic teams and working alongside product and sales leaders to hit revenue goals. Veena has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in public service from the University of Minnesota. When not working, running, or cleaning out a closet, Veena and her husband enjoy chasing after their three boys in beautiful Austin, Texas.
Melissa Buhro, SPHR has been part of the Austin Human Resources community since 2010. She has worked with organizations of all sizes, building HR departments from scratch. Additionally, she has managed the people strategy for several acquisitions. Melissa earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of North Texas. When not working, Melissa enjoys camping with her family at State Parks and traveling to new places.
Greg began his career in San Antonio with the Grant Thornton Assurance practice, where he focused in the government space. After a stint with the Advisory practice in Austin, Greg joined Bart and Joel at P180 Investments in September 2019. Since then, he has served in escalating roles assisting and leading the financial management of small to midsized software companies, successfully guiding several entities through the challenges of the COVID economy/environment. Greg has a CPA in the State of Texas since March 2018, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Accountancy from Trinity University. Away from the office, Greg enjoys spending time with his wife and dog as well as working out/being outdoors.
Matt began his career at Deloitte Audit & Assurance in Houston, Texas. In 2012, he moved to a multinational midstream oil & gas corporation, performing financial reporting and analysis including SEC, international and regulatory reporting. In 2017, Matt joined Wells Fargo as the financial consultant for their private equity investment team, focusing on managing results and forecasts for the team as well as advising the group executive on strategic long term initiatives and efficiency gains. Matt holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Accountancy from Trinity University and is a licensed CPA in the state of Texas. Outside of the office, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and dog and going to as many basketball games as possible.
Michael Kirgan, CPA began his career in the Assurance and Transaction Services practices of PwC in Houston before transitioning into corporate development and strategic planning roles with two public companies in the midstream oil & gas industry. Michael went on to lead the startup of the Transaction Services practice at Briggs & Veselka Co. before the firm was acquired by Crowe LLP., where he worked as a Senior Manager of Transaction Advisory Services prior to joining 512 Financial as the Director of Financial Services. Michael obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Accountancy from Trinity University. Outside of work, Michael enjoys watching movies with his wife, playing tennis, and snowboarding.
Chris began his career in experiential learning at API, where he grew to manage the financial services team. After API, he worked at Deloitte Consulting, leading a global team to facilitate FP&A, sales planning, and the RFP process. He returned to API as Sr. Director of Finance to help lead a business transformation backed by an investment from private equity. With his financial management experience in high-growth, fast-paced environments, Chris joined 512Financial as the Director of Client Advisory Services to help companies solve the challenges they face when growing their business. Chris has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin. In his spare time, Chris enjoys cooking and playing music, tennis, and golf.
