How we use it

Responding to inquiries

When you submit a contact form, a member of our team will follow up by email or phone (if you provided a number) to discuss your situation. We use your role selection and the page you submitted from to route your inquiry and personalize our initial response.

Processing referrals

When an investor or advisor refers a company through our Refer a Company form, we use the submitted information to reach out to the referred company and to send a confirmation to the referring party. We do not use referral information for any purpose beyond facilitating that introduction.

Delivering gated content

When you submit a form to access a white paper, guide, or on-demand webinar, we use your email address to deliver the content and may send a follow-up email. We may also enroll you in a relevant HubSpot nurture sequence. You can unsubscribe from any marketing email at any time using the link in the email footer.

Sending the newsletter

If you subscribe to The Fractional, we use your email address to send monthly emails containing operational guidance, articles, and benchmarks relevant to growth-stage companies. We send no more than one issue per month. The Fractional may include promotions and advertising. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Analytics and site improvement

We use analytics tools to understand how visitors interact with our website, including which pages are visited, how long people spend on them, and where traffic originates. This helps us improve content and site structure. Analytics data is aggregated and not tied to individual identities.

Sales and relationship management

Contact information submitted through any form on the site is stored in our CRM (HubSpot). We use this to track conversations, follow up on proposals, and manage client relationships. We do not use your contact information to contact you about services unrelated to your original inquiry without your consent.

Third-party services

Our website uses the following third-party platforms. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

HubSpot
Hub

HubSpot serves as our CRM and marketing platform. It handles form submission processing, contact storage, email delivery, and marketing automation workflows. When you submit any form on the Site, your data is transmitted to HubSpot and stored in our HubSpot portal. HubSpot also places a tracking cookie on your browser when you visit the Site (see Cookies section below). HubSpot’s privacy policy is available at legal.hubspot.com/privacy-policy.

Google Fonts

Our website loads typefaces from Google Fonts. When you visit any page on the Site, your browser makes a request to Google’s servers to download font files. This request includes your IP address and browser information. We do not control or have access to this data. Google’s privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

Paylocity

Internal 512Financial job applications submitted through our Careers page are processed through Paylocity, a third-party applicant tracking and HR platform. Information submitted in a job application is governed by Paylocity’s privacy policy, available at paylocity.com/privacy-policy.

Crelate

External client recruited job applications are processed through Crelate, a third-party applicant tracking system. Information submitted in an application is governed by Crelate’s privacy policy. We receive application data in our recruiting workflow.

Analytics platform

We use Google Analytics to collect aggregated usage data about site visits, including pages viewed, session duration, and traffic sources. Google Analytics data is anonymized and not used to identify individual visitors. Google’s privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

LinkedIn Insight Tag

Our website uses the LinkedIn Insight Tag, a piece of JavaScript code that enables LinkedIn to report on the effectiveness of our LinkedIn advertising campaigns and to provide aggregate demographic data about the Site visitors. We do not have access to individual visitor data through this tag. LinkedIn’s privacy policy is available at linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy. LinkedIn members can opt out of the Insight Tag through their LinkedIn account settings.

Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies, which are small text files stored in your browser, for the purposes described below. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some Site functionality, including form pre-fill and the dismissal of the announcement bar. Our Site does not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals.

  • HubSpot tracking cookie. HubSpot places a cookie on your browser when you visit the Site. This cookie tracks your page visits and form submissions to help us understand which content led to an inquiry. It does not collect personally identifiable information until you submit a form, at which point it associates your visit history with the contact record you create.
  • Analytics cookies. Google Analytics uses cookies to track session data: which pages you visited, how long you spent on each, and how you arrived at the Site. This data is aggregated and not used to identify individual visitors.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag. LinkedIn places a cookie on your browser to enable conversion tracking and aggregate demographic reporting on our LinkedIn advertising. LinkedIn members can opt out through their LinkedIn account settings.
  • Session and functional cookies.  Our website uses a session cookie to remember your dismissal of the announcement bar. This is a functional-only cookie with no tracking purpose.

Email communications

We send the following categories of email:

  • Transactional emails. Sent in direct response to a form submission: follow-up from the contact form, referral confirmation, gated content delivery. These are not marketing emails and are not subject to unsubscribe requirements, though we will stop sending them once a conversation concludes.
  • Marketing and nurture emails. Sent to contacts who have submitted a form expressing interest in our services or content. These emails include information about 512Financial’s capabilities, relevant thought leadership, and event invitations. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • The Fractional newsletter. Sent monthly to subscribers. Includes operational guidance, benchmarks, and articles for founders and operators at growth-stage companies. Every issue includes an unsubscribe link. We do not share the subscriber list or include third-party promotions.

To unsubscribe from any marketing email or the newsletter, use the unsubscribe link in the email footer. To request removal from all 512Financial email communications, contact us at info@512financial.com.

Data sharing

We do not sell your information to third parties. We do not share your information with advertisers. We do not share your contact information with other companies for their own marketing purposes.

We share data in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. We share data with HubSpot (CRM and email), Paylocity (applicant tracking), Google Analytics (site analytics), and LinkedIn (advertising measurement) as described above. These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually restricted from using it for any other purpose.
  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of 512Financial, our clients, or others.
  • Business transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Data retention

We retain contact information in HubSpot for as long as a business relationship or conversation is active or potentially active. For contacts who never became clients and did not engage with our content after initial contact, we conduct periodic list hygiene to remove inactive records. Contacts with no activity for 24 months are eligible for removal during routine hygiene cycles.

Newsletter subscribers are retained until they unsubscribe. Job application data is retained for 12 months after an application is submitted or the relevant position is filled, whichever is later.

To request deletion of your information, contact us at info@512financial.com.

Depending on where you are located and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including:

  • Access. You can request a copy of the information we hold about you.
  • Correction. You can ask us to correct inaccurate information.
  • Deletion. You can request that we delete your contact record from our systems. We will confirm deletion within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Opt-out of marketing. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly.
  • Portability. You can request a copy of your information in a structured, machine-readable format.

California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). If you are in the European Union, European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, your rights are governed by the GDPR or UK GDPR respectively. These rights apply to you although our operations are based in the United States. Where we transfer your personal data outside the EU/EEA or UK, we do so using appropriate safeguards. By submitting your information through any forms on the Site, you are explicitly consenting to the transfer of your personal data to the United States for the purposes described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting 512Financial at the email address in the next paragraph. To exercise any of these applicable rights or withdraw your consent for processing under applicable law, contact us at info@512financial.com. We will respond to all verifiable rights requests or consent withdrawals within the timeframes required by applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
